Jam or cream first on your scones?
W e have friends who live in Devon, we visit them two or three times a year…. there are times when we go out for a walk and pop in somewhere for a bite to eat… then it starts Scones - with butter or not? Scones with Jam first? Scones with no butter and cream first?
Sometimes you do what feels right on the day, watching others doing the same - however on those days where it is a topic of discussion, well it can go on and on!
Does it matter who is right or wrong to you? I think, if the scone is light and fluffy, with fruit in it, some lovely strawberry jam and clotted cream - well I am happy whichever way it is eaten… sometimes difference is to be embraced… especially when in Devon.
If you don't know what I am going on about here is a lovely link to explain. https://www.travelassociates.com/luxury-holidays-news/cornish-vs-devonshire-tea
