I'm by the pool dear...
Going away from the business is not something you do lightly, there are things that need you to be there - right? Sometimes you choose not to go away for very long, a day here or there maybe. What happens is you don't get time to switch off properly, you then get overly tired, run down and may even get a bug or two!
I knew we were going to be away for two weeks in Sept / Oct this year. So hubby and I planned our work commitments around the days we were going to be away, we rescheduled meetings, let our clients know we were going to be out of the country, we set up systems to manage any emails or phone calls that had to be dealt with. We took a laptop and our phones on the understanding we'd do check ins once a day, but all the planning worked - we didn't get disturbed and all went well.
I'd just like you to think about how you holiday - are you at work or off work?
