From Italy with love
Spartan team captain, based in Italy came to stay with us as he was to take part in the Spartan Race in Belvoir Castle grounds, Lincolnshire.
This is someone we engaged as our au pair, when our kids were 11/12/13 years of age - so around 15 or more years ago. He came as a shy young Italian boy who wanted to learn English, he left as a great friend. He has since become like a family member. We have seen his life develop in so many ways, he is committed to fitness training, he coaches others in becoming Spartan event fit [ for those of you puzzled by what this entails check it out here https://www.spartan.com/ ]
He has put himself through lots of educational courses to qualify at the highest level to do this, he trains relentlessly to be the best he can be.
He donates blood regularly and he is supporting other athletes to do the same, he champions people wanting to be the best version of themselves. What is it all for? He grew up knowing there was something out there for him, that settling or making do, wasn't on the cards for him. He is making a difference and we are proud to support him.
We had so much fun at the event with him, we are looking forwards to doing it again next year!
