I am Highly Commended in the National Coaching Awards 2023

Update - I came Highly Commended, which was an amazing feeling! Award Ceremony in London was amazing!

Way back in September, I was feeling weird about submitting myself for an award.I am a coach, I coach people, I love what I do - would 'award nominated' or award winning' really make any difference to me? I went back and forth for weeks… until I decided to just take the plunge and enter! At about the 5th draft, I had changed my mind… why am I interesting enough to put myself forwards? I knew I needed a 'client testimonial' so I thought - I will ask for one, if it came back in time, I would hit send! It did, and this is now how I got here!

What happened next seemed to be a huge undertaking by lots of people…

To become shortlisted for the National Coaching Awards - Transformational Coach of the Year 2023, I underwent a rigorous application process.

Then an initial selection round, where a panel of judges meticulously scrutinised the candidates, applying specific evaluation criteria to narrow down the selection. Subsequently, the identities of all entrants were anonymised, and their submissions were distributed among three different judges from the judge pool.

Each aspect of my submission was evaluated, with every question being scored based on the category criteria, carrying a substantial 75% weighting in the overall assessment. Furthermore, the judges assessed the submissions based on key elements such as authenticity, the ability to celebrate success, effective storytelling, and the willingness to share both successes and challenges, carrying a further 25% weighting in the evaluation process.

After the comprehensive evaluation and calibration of the judges' scores, I was honoured to be chosen as a finalist, a nod to all the hard work and dedication I have put into my coaching practice.

I want to take a moment to acknowledge and congratulate all my fellow nominees, many of whom are good friends and esteemed colleagues.

I am looking forwards to the awards night on 8th February 2023 in London, it promises to be an exciting and celebratory event, recognising the exceptional contributions of many coaches across various specialisms, all making a difference in their own way.

I am thankful to those that nominated me, that encouraged me to make the application and those that encouraged me to be vulnerable in sharing my story. I also want to say a massive thank you to my client for the testimonial that confirmed my decision to hit submit.
