How cute is that doggy?
On Bank Holiday Monday - what better thing to do than help raise over £300 for a local charity. My husband Steve was the Dog Show judge on this very bitterly cold day, to top it off we were perched on top of a very exposed hill!!
The job I took on was all about encouraging people to enter their dogs, then upselling to them - one class £3 or three classes for £5… as I love dogs and people, it seemed a great match for me. My husband however had to navigate judging people's precious pets, can you imagine little girls with gentle giants, elderly gents with terrifying terriers and of course the well to do lady with her precious fluffy pooch. There was an amount of subjectivity in some of the classes - who did look most like their dog? Which dog had the saggiest tail.
The point of a chance to volunteer is that you do it to benefit others and have a great day at the same time with friends. Thanks to Sue and Mike for inviting us to be part of the event.
